More Emma Sharpe

So, if you have been with me for a while, you will know how much I love Emma Sharpe & the Features who hailed out of Brighton starting around 1979. And if you've seen me and you've seen her you probably get part of the attraction. Lol. I have actually been trying to track down Emma for several years now and thanks to some very adept sleuthing on the part of my friend Jerrold, I finally found her! This has lead me to revisit her catalog in preparation for an interview. So, for your listening pleasure, I have put a bunch more of my favorite tracks up on my YouTube.  You can listen below, or just go to my channel and listen to them all together and I urge you to do so because the world is grey and cold and often horrible and this will, if only momentarily, occupy your brain and maybe convince you there can be some good in the world.

I was listening to this first track, Carry Me Through The Fire, while reading more tragic news the fire in Oakland. So much shit going on that's devastating, it's hard to stay positive and focused sometimes. I can't say anything that hasn't been said before but just a simple plea to stay safe, stay together and stay strong.

Love, as always,
Megon

Great City-Great City LP (US, 1986)

It's definitely the kind of day to listen to over-dramatic electro-rock.  Mondays are hard, and they are double-hard after such long weekends.  I am still feeling exhausted, dehydrated and  highly emotional after a weekend that essentially lasted two weeks.  Just have to get through November and I can hibernate till spring.

Anyway, this is Great City.  Not much info about them floating around out there.  If you want to download the album, you can do so HERE, I would recommend it for no other reason than the track Tell Me I'm Yours which is pretty great.  Here are a couple of the other best tracks, I Remember and Too Much Thunder.  Ok, happy Monday to you all, if there is such a thing.

XOXO

Kitchen & The Plastic Spoons-Screams To God (Sweden, 1980)

Here's one you probably already know, but, I am totally obsessed with this song from Kitchen & The Plastic Spoons.  So, I'll go ahead and share it anyway.  If you like it you can follow them on Facebook HERE or get a copy of the reissue over at Dark Entries HERE .

In other news, our Montreal ODIF showcase on Thursday was a hit.  If you want to see how it went, there are videos HERE of Police Des Moeurs, Noyade and Low Factor as well as a few from the ODIF release show back in September in Fayetteville with Neon Glittery and Llinda.  Also, our friend David over at Astral Bating took a ton of rad pictures at the Montreal show which you can check out HERE.

Lastly, on our road to world domination, Issue #1 is reviewed in this month's issue of MRR.  Even made the top ten. So, that's something! Alright, before I forget, here's the song:

Ok, Happy Canadian Thanksgiving, everyone!
