It's cloudy here so I'll share the sad tale of Yanka Dyagileva. Yanka was an up and coming figure on the Russian underground punk scene in the late 80's. She played solo and performed with others, including her rumored boyfriend, Yegor Letov who played in one of my favorite bands Grazhdanskaya Oborona.
On May 9, 1991, she disappeared from her home, where she lived with her family. On May 17, she was found dead in the Inya River miles from where she had vanished. The official story was that she committed suicide during a depressive episode but many people believe to this day that she was brutally murdered and the crime has never been solved. Either way, her songs live on and here is one of them:
